Ballroom Dancing Every Friday Night
The Dance Space is the only establishment in Richmond, Virginia to hold a public Ballroom Dance every week of the year. Every Friday night a Ballroom Dance is held at The Dance Space from 8pm to 10:30. It starts with a 30 minute Ballroom group class which is followed by general dancing. Our facility has a 1600 square foot wooden dance floor and state-of-the-art sound system. We play a mixture of traditional-ballroom and contemporary music. Light refreshments are served. Both singles and couples are welcome.
When: Every Friday night (excluding Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Eve)

National Ballroom Dance Week Friday Night at The Dance Space
In support of National Ballroom Dance Week and to help promote ballroom dance in the Richmond Metro area, The Dance Space sponsors a reduced-cost event on Friday of that week. A 30 minute beginner group class is held starting at 8:00 pm followed by general dancing until 10:30. Refreshments will be served.
A special annual event for dancers of all ages. Both singles and couples are welcome.

The Richmond Area Swing Dance Society, RASS, presents a swing dance on the first, second and third Saturday of each month. The evening starts with a one hour group class at 7:30pm, followed by dancing until 11:30pm. Light refreshments are served. We play a variety of swing tempos, from moderate to fast; Lindy, East Coast, Balboa and Charleston tunes. Every Saturday, there is a beginning swing group class. The type of swing taught at the beginner group class is as follows - 1st and 3rd Saturdays, East Coast Awing; 2nd Saturday, 8-count Lindy. There frequently is an intermediate class running, concurrently. The dance follows at 8:30. The classes, dance and refreshments are included in one price.

Join Clara, Gio and the Salsa4Life crowd on the 4th Saturday of every month for the hottest Salsa Social in town! The evening starts with a beginner Salsa lesson, followed by dancing until midnight. Light refreshments served.

5th Saturday Showcase Dance
The Dance Space sponsors four special ballroom dances each year when there is a 5th Saturday to the month. The dance is a simple, elegant evening of general dancing to ballroom style music. Attendees are requested to dress up and there will be no group class. Light horsdoeuvres will be served. Both singles and couples are welcome.
Throughout the evening several sets of amateur or pro-am dance exhibitions will be held. This is designed to entertain our guests and to give students, from The Dance Space, a regular opportunity to prepare and perform ballroom dance routines.

Argentine Tango Workshop, Practica/Milonga
Every Sunday (with few exceptions) from 5-6:30pm, at The Dance Space, there's a multi-level Argentine Tango workshop & practica, featuring several of Richmond's most popular tango teachers. With 3 & 4 part series based on a variety of tango related styles of music, fundamental elements & creative ideas for combinations, you can't go wrong with these classes!

Every 2nd Sunday, The Dance Space holds a laid-back evening of rythm dancing. This dance, held from 7 to 9pm, is not your typical ballroom dance as Richmond's DJ Bill put's a Club flair on this one. He'll take out the traveling dances, and go heavy on West Coast Swing, Latin, Hustle, and Night Club Two Step. Enjoying Club Tango? This is the dance for you. $5 per person gets you 2 hours of dancing and light refreshments.
So come on out at 7 PM on the 2nd Sunday and enjoy another evening of dancing with friends at The Dance Space.
